Sometimes watermarks are not as secure as they seem to be. For example, look at
these pictures:
This watermark was removed using photo editing software. There are some defects
in the restored picture, but this will not prevent unauthorized usage.
Does it mean that watermarks in general are insecure? No.
Watermarks are secure if used properly. Let see how we can improve the
watermark.
Watermarks placed differently can't be removed without remarkable effects to the
image. To restore this picture we have used the same technique as we used in the
previous picture. Fortunately, the revised watermark will not allow removal of the
watermark without creating huge defects that won't allow use of the restored picture.
The image has now become useless as a result of the attempt to remove the watermark.

What's the difference between the pictures above? Why
was one of the watermarks removed easily while another protects the photo well?
The first watermark was placed in the corner of the picture and is too small to
protect the picture effectively. It doesn't cover enough space of the source photo,
and therefore it can be removed easily.
The second watermark was placed in the center of the picture and is large enough
to protect the picture. This watermark is large enough to protect most of the picture’s
details, creating a headache for the photo pro who tries to remove the watermark.
Picture Watermark checks every watermark you create
to ensure it is strong enough to protect your pictures. The Security
Meter tool is located on the left side of the Watermark Editor.
This tool rates your watermark from 0 to 100 points depending on how secure it is.
It checks the watermark placement, opacity and some other parameters, and then shows
the overall rating of the watermark.

The second watermark rating
This tool will check your watermark each time you protect your pictures. The only
thing you need to do is to look at the Security Meter rating.
